A Music and Community Experience Like No Other
Austin’s vibrant atmosphere becomes even more colorful this fall as Central Machine Works unveils its ambitious Next Stage Concert Series. This renovated brewery, long known as a local gathering spot, is stepping up its game with 11 weeks of free concerts designed to engage the community while giving back to local nonprofits. From September 26 to December 5, music fans can enjoy a diverse lineup that includes the celebrated Adrian Quesada, Heartless Bastards, and Wild Child, all taking the stage to support various causes in the city.
Renovations Bring New Life to a Historic Space
Once a bustling machine shop from the 1940s, Central Machine Works now stands as an enhanced escape for music lovers and socialites alike. Recently renovated, the brewery boasts a redesigned beer garden equipped with an innovative shade structure and a state-of-the-art stage. “We’ve made it our goal to make Central Machine Works a place for all — where people can gather, eat and drink, and connect,” says General Manager Dhal Smith. With increased capacity, the brewery can host up to 1,200 guests per concert, hoping to attract between 10,000 to 15,000 attendees over the series.
Community Impact and Local Partnerships
What sets this concert series apart is its commitment to the community. Each performance benefits a different local nonprofit, aiding in efforts such as food security, environmental conservation, and more. For example, local favorites like Adrian Quesada will lend their voices to support the ATX Free Fridge initiative, ensuring that those in need in our community have access to food. Other nonprofits include the Colorado River Alliance and Austin Parks Foundation, emphasizing Central Machine Works' dedication to nurturing connections to local institutions.
Innovative Cocktails and a Unique Atmosphere
Alongside the incredible music lineup, visitors can enjoy specially crafted cocktails that embody Austin's creative spirit. The brewery features unique drinks such as tropical frozens and seasonal cocktails infused with unexpected flavors, like mango and toasted sticky rice. Such offerings, combined with delicious pizza, create a multi-sensory experience that welcomes everyone to come together, relax, and unwind.
A Festival of Sounds in an Iconic City
With concerts every week starting at 7:30 PM, there's no shortage of entertainment at Central Machine Works. The full schedule promises an eclectic mix of genres, ensuring every patron walks away luminous with new memories.
